COVID-19 Shutdown Resources for Small Business Owners

Many of you may need some financial assistance as a result of the pandemic shutdown of businesses.  I wanted to get this information to you and encourage you to start looking for resources for your business and yourself.

  • The SBA Disaster Loan Assistance website is https://disasterloan.sba.gov.  You should check for eligibility and probably apply now.  The site is slow with so many applying.  I don’t know how they will be awarded (or when).
  • California sole proprietors may be eligible for unemployment assistance (DUA) under a federal program that provides financial assistance to jobless workers and the self-employed when they are unemployed as a direct result of a major natural disaster.  For information on DUA look https://www.edd.ca.gov/pdf_pub_ctr/de8714dua.pdf
  • If you are a corporation and have paid yourself with payroll you may also be eligible for unemployment benefits.
